Detroit Touch Records is the brainchild of Matthew Dotson, a 30-year old multi-instrumentalist and music producer.
Matthew began playing music at a very young age, picking out melodies on his mom's piano. He developed a love for classical music as a child after finding a cassette tape filled with Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, and John Williams.
At the age of 14, Matthew started playing guitar and began an obsession with learning classic rock riffs and solos, particularly from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.
After learning guitar, bass, drums and keys, Matthew started learning music production and has been on a quest for audio knowledge since.
Also an avid film lover, Matthew's favorite auteur directors are Paul Thomas Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, and Stanley Kubrick.
Matthew's specialties are progressive rock, surf rock, downtempo, romantic, electro-house and industrial music, which he showcases in his solo band, White Ashes.
